"COLOURS OF CANBERRA" - NATURAL DYEING (18-3)
Tutor: Sally Blake
Sally Blake is known for her extensive research into natural dyeing, especially with Eucalyptus. She uses dyes and dyed yarns in works on paper, tapestry, basketry and sculptural forms. During this weekend workshop you will learn to extract plant dye, sourced from plant materials found in Canberra. You will also be shown how colours can be affected by mordants. Samples of wool, silk and cotton will be provided as a record of the dyes produced. Participants can choose to dye some extra fibre, yarns or fabrics.

WHERE: Textile Works in Chifley
FEE: $230 (Full Fee) or $190 (CSW members)*
Materials Fee: $15
EQUIPMENT: Supplied by CSW and tutor
PARTICIPANTS BRING: Pen and paper; rubber gloves; bags/containers to take wet samples home. Extra fibre, yarn and or fabric. Additional information after registration.
