Rigid Heddle weaving with Cat Evans
|
Learn the basics of weaving and experiment with weaving tricks on a rigid heddle (“knitters”) loom. Open to young and old!
Using this simple loom, you will learn how to set up the loom and prepare a warp. You will explore many creative and experimental possibilities with plain weave structure. You will get guidance to develop a project using the techniques learned. Classes are relaxed and informal. Participants can hire a loom from Canberra Spinners and Weavers to take home and weave independently in between sessions.
TUTOR: Cat Evans is recent graduate of the ANU School of Art and Design with majors in Textiles and Sculpture. She is excited by weaving in all its forms and can’t wait to share the Rigid Heddle Loom with you.
