Want to Learn how to make a bird?
Using cane, you will learn how to make a bird, that could easily morph into some other creature of your liking, using the random weave technique.
Did you know that the basic form of a duck/ bird/chicken is an egg?
You will begin by constructing a basic egg shaped body. Using more cane, you will extend this out from the narrower end of the egg to form a tail and from the broader, opposite end to form a head. It’s as simple as that. If you have a preference for a particular bird bring along an A4 image of it and we will work from there. I will provide an example of a finished bird and some images.
For those with a bit of experience and wanting a challenge, this project can be extended to include legs, feet and wings etc. On the other hand, some may use the original form as a basket. Experimentation is always welcome
