International Scarf Exchange 2024
Entries have now closed for the International Scarf Exchange for 2024 and we have received a whopping 73 entries, including 7 from overseas. Participants will soon be receiving their exchange fibre packs, including (for Australian residents) a pre-paid and pre-addressed Australia Post satchel for the return of the finished garment to Canberra spinners and Weavers.
Participants now have until the end of May 2024 to spin and weave or knit or crochet their item.

Canberra Spinners and Weavers are inviting participates to enter the 32nd Annual International Scarf Exchange
The annual Scarf Exchange is an international program aimed to preserve the skills of spinning, weaving, knitting, and crocheting to expand the fibre craft network, and to challenge each crafter to produce their best work.
Our theme for 2023-2024 is Aurora Australis.
Each crafter will send 150-200grams of their own clean and carded or combed fibre to the event organiser, which is Canberra Spinners and Weavers (CSW).
CSW will receive your fibre and exchange it for another entrant’s fibre, then allocate the exchanged fibre to you. Your new fibre package will include 150-200gms of their submitted fibre pack ready for you to spin, and craft into a scarf, shawl/wrap, cowl, or beanie.
When the completed crafted item is received back to CSW, all items will be displayed in the Annual Scarf Exchange Exhibition which will be held in the ‘Fay Skyring’ gallery 22-30 June 2024.
