Emerging Artists Support Scheme (EASS)
CSW is proud of our Emerging Artists Support Scheme which is designed to support and encourage recent graduates of textile courses in their textile careers. We offer to selected awardees a year of free membership along with exhibition opportunities in our gallery Textile Works. Some limited tutoring opportunities may also become available.
Some of our former EASS recipients:
Faye Skyring OAM Scholarship
This scholarship is designed to foster creativity and excellence in spinning and weaving, and related textile techniques. It is open to CSW members and has been established to honour the legacy of Fay Skyring OAM. In her long working life Fay was a weaver, an artist, teacher and mentor to many. This one year scholarship aims to promote textile arts by offering the recipient access to up to three CSW workshops, culminating in an exhibition at the Fay Skyring Gallery, Canberra Textile Works. The scholarship gives the recipient an opportunity to further research and develop their textile design practice.
If you have ideas for new work you would like to develop, are interested in being challenged, enjoy learning new techniques in workshops, but need a bit of support and a ‘carrot’, this scholarship may be for you. Besides the workshops, the recipient will have access to the various textile interest groups within CSW, to get feedback, support and guidance.
