Annual retreat

Each year Canberra Spinners and Weavers organise a relaxed retreat for fibre folk on the outskirts of Canberra. The retreat is held in late October or early November over a long weekend and you are welcome to come for all three nights or for even just half a day.

 

We have some traditions, like a fun fashion parade of participant's creations, and there is usually a raffle, a silent auction and a small group of traders in fibre craft tools and supplies. There are small informal workshops but we don't run a conference style program.

 

The focus is on relaxing and crafting with others, sharing experiences and ideas. We create a welcoming community which includes spinners, weavers, knitters and crocheters. You bring along your yarn and fibre, your wheel, loom, needles and hooks and spend your time creating in good company.
